Services
No two trees are alike; therefore no two treehouses are ever the same. Designing and constructing treehouses that accommodate people with disabilities can be a complex and resource-intensive process. Forever Young Treehouses represent an integrated approach in the areas of design, construction, tree care, fundraising, and marketing to help clients navigate the process of building a universally accessible treehouse.
The services that Forever Young Treehouses offer are designed to address the challenges of building a unique one of a kind universally accessible treehouses. All the services are designed to work in concert as a package. These integrated services include:
Site Evaluation and Planning
Forever Young Treehouses will come to your location and visit your property. We will spend the day inspecting the location from every perspective including ease of access for people with disabilities, potential views, good trees and the feel of where a treehouse might be built. Our evaluators have a "feel" for what location make a good treehouse location. They can choose the best place for your treehouse, and help guide you through the initial design concept process.
Arboreal Consulting
A good treehouse is only as good as the trees that they are built in. To ensure that the trees are healthy and can handle the load of the treehouse, an arborist experienced in building of treehouses surveys all the potential trees to ensure the best support for these unique structures.
Design
Each treehouse that Forever Young Treehouses builds has a unique look to it. The design takes into account the landscape, the tree configuration and construction considerations. In addition, the architectural services include concept design and production of design and construction documents to meet or exceed ADA requirements as well as all applicable codes.
Fundraising & Budgeting
One of the biggest challenges that our clients face is fundraising and budgeting of monies to ensure that the treehouse can be built. In addition, Forever Young Treehouses believes that treehouses should be community assets and that every person in the community should be involved in building the treehouse. Everyone can do something.
Forever Young Treehouses works closely with the key stakeholders in your universally accessible treehouses to teach them time tested methods on how to recruit business, nonprofit organizations and members of the community to your cause. In our own home town of Burlington, VT Forever Young Treehouses was able to involve seven distinct for profit and nonprofit companies and over 40 individuals to help build the first universally accessible community treehouse.
Individuals like the Mayor of Burlington, Peter Clavelle and Pizzagalli Construction the local construction company are examples of people who have been part of the construction of this treehouse.
Marketing
One key aspect for promoting your treehouse to ensure maximum exposure to the project and to assist in the recruitment of volunteers, getting business to donate materials and money and to let the community know that you are building a treehouse is marketing. After building treehouses in four states we have learned a number of tricks to get the press and other interested in your project.
For example one of the simplest ways to ensure the promotion of your universally accessible treehouse is to invite the local television station to follow the project from beginning to end to build the excitement. Forever Young Treehouses will provide assistance with public relations to maximize the project's outreach and visibility.
Construction
When the day has come to begin the building of your universally accessible treehouse, Forever Young provides onsite construction organization and personnel; including volunteer management to ensure that your treehouse is built to the agreed upon specifications and that your volunteers are contributing to the task.
Our treehouse guys have built every conceivable type of treehouses from simple platforms to the large and ornate treehouses found on this web site. They are truly experts in the art of building treehouses. They are with you from the time the first garnier limb is put into a tree to final load test on the treehouse.
Making it happen...
Building a universally accessible Treehouse in your community requires planning, organization and, most of all, enthusiastic people. The good news is that Forever Young is here to help you every step of the way.
The first step…
Is to send us digital photos of your proposed site or sites, along with a contact sheet and questionnaire (click here to download). With this information, we can get to work helping you decide if building a Forever Young Treehouse is right for your community.
The next step…
Is to provide a good faith deposit and schedule a site visit. A Treehouse Advocate will visit your community to look over your site and answer any questions your organization has about the process of building a Forever Young Treehouse. We’ll facilitate design sessions to make sure we know what you want your Treehouse to be. Our amazing designer will then produce a beautiful rendering of your Treehouse. If you decide not to go forward with your project, your deposit is refundable less expenses and artist’s fees.
Now What Happens?
When you’re ready to move forward, we’ll ask you to sign a contract and provide the first installment on construction and service costs. You’ll receive site drawings, engineer-approved construction documents and a materials list. We’ll provide support to help you work through the permitting process. Once we have a building permit in place, we schedule a start date and the construction begins!
What if we don’t have the money?
(Like we’ve never heard that one before). Forever Young Treehouses has unique fundraising techniques that have worked in many different communities, as well as the ability to create individual plans for your project. We are here to help you get a universally accessible Treehouse. It’s our job, it’s a cool one, and we love it.
