Here is an excerpt
from a letter we recently received from one of our supporters:
In 1979, I decided
to put a glassed-in porch on the second floor of our house because I wanted
a "tree house" - at least one where I could look at my trees
even though I couldn't climb a tree. Through the years I have had many
moments of pleasure up there, but this year the pleasure was magnified
for me. I was diagnosed with cancer. When I could not sleep, I have spent
many an early morning hour drinking a cup of coffee up there while listening
to the wind and gentle rain, watching the leaves blow, and seeing the
sun come up.
Bless you all for
giving those kids a chance to go up to their own tree house when they
couldn't do it by climbing. At 78 I am glad I was able to build mine at
age 56.
